Overview
The ready-to-assemble Double Oven Cabinet is built to carry a stacked pair of ovens, which is why its deck and top are double thickness. A double oven is among the heaviest things in a kitchen, and the cabinet holding it is doing structural work rather than storage.
Sizing and fit
Height runs from 48 1/4 to 84 inches and width from 22 to 36 inches, both in quarter inch steps. Depth runs from 6 to 30 inches. Take the width and the opening from the oven specification, not from the gap in the run, and check both ovens rather than assuming the pair are identical.
The three opening dimensions follow from the cabinet rather than being chosen: the opening is the cabinet width less 1 1/2 inches, the cabinet height less 7 inches, and the cabinet depth less 3/4 of an inch. The listed price covers a cabinet 22 inches wide, 65 inches high and 24 inches deep.
Construction and materials
The case is 3/4 inch PureBond plywood faced in maple or birch veneer with a clear UV finish, or melamine where cost matters more than the interior finish. Edges are banded in PVC, wood tape or special material, 63 finishes in total.
The deck the ovens sit on and the top above them are double thickness. Toe kicks come recessed, flush, or omitted, with a matching toe kick in 11 wood species. Finished end panels are available on either side as a flat veneer panel or a faux cap. Fronts come from the same catalogue of 121 styles as our replacement doors.
