Measuring

How to measure to replace my existing doors?

If your replacement doors are going to be the same as your current doors, you are
in luck! Simply measure the width and height of the backside of your existing doors to the nearest 1/16”.

Single Door:
The example below is for ½” overlay with a cabinet opening of 19(w) x 31(h).

Width:

Opening width + 1”

Height: Opening height + 1”

Width: Opening width + overlay (hinge side) + overlay (opening side)

19 + ½" + ½” = 20

Height: Opening height + overlay (top) + overlay (bottom)
31 + ½” + ½" = 32

Split Doors

This is when 2 doors essentially meet in the middle, or touch in the
middle. You will have to take the measurement across the
entire opening of both doors. The example below is assuming a ½” overlay and an opening size of 35 (w) x 31(h).

Formula:
Width:  (opening width + 1/2" - 1/16”

Width:    Add 1” to the cabinet opening; then, divide by 2 (2 doors) then subtract 1/16”
35 + 1 = 36

36 / 2 = 18

18 – 1/16 = 17 15/16”

 Height

Opening Height + 1

31 + 1 =  32

*If you have an overlay that is different than ½”, you can simply substitute your
overlay into any of the formulas above.

How do I measure for a Lazy Susan corner?

1.  Measure from the inside edge of one side to the corner.

2.  Add 1/2" to your width. (1/2" is the industry standard and the overlay we recommend)

3. Subtract the thickness of the door from width measurement. This will ensure each door has enough room to fold in on itself.

4. Repeat these steps for the other door in this corner.

Doors and Drawer Fronts

When are center rails automatically applied to a cabinet door?

It depends on the height of the doors. Typically, center rails are placed on doors over 50 inches, and 66" on doors cut for glass inserts, but some styles will not require them. If a tall door without a center rail is needed, please leave a us a note requesting to remove the center rail from your tall door order.

Is the glass included with glass cut cabinet doors?

The doors come with wood stops but not the glass.

What is the thickness of your cabinet doors?

Our doors are 3/4" thick, while some of our doors are 7/8" thick due to its unique design.

What is the difference between Thermofoil and wood cabinets?

Warranty Information

What type of warranty do you offer?

Doors, drawer fronts, and drawer boxes within our maximum or minimum sizes are warrantied against warpage, delamination, swelling, twisting, or cracking by the manufacturer for one year, when given reasonable treatment. Solvent-based Finishing is warrantied for one year.

Deco-Form products are guaranteed for five years against yellowing, delamination, warpage, and twisting. Deco Lam is guaranteed for one year. See the Deco-Form price list for details. Do not use ammonia or acetone based products to clean Deco-Form doors or Deco Lam products.

Reasonable treatment requires that doors and drawer fronts:

  • Be stored in areas not subject to abnormal heat, cold, dryness, humidity, salt or direct sunlight.
  • Not be stored in freshly plastered buildings or damp and humid open areas.
  • Not be subject to extreme moisture (bleaching, etc).
  • Not be subject to impairment of structural strength when fitting or applying hardware.
  • If ordered unfinished, be finished on front, back, top, bottom, and sides with an equal amount of finish, as soon as possible, to aid in the prevention of unequal absorption or release of moisture. This is particularly important with Maple product as it is prone to moisture absorption, especially in areas with humid conditions and in the winter.
  • Deco-Form doors and drawer fronts are not recommended in any area where temperatures will exceed 150 degrees Fahrenheit. It is recommended to use a melamine filler between all heat sources and the cabinet.

Warranty Reminders:

  • A warp or twist of 3/16 of an inch or less is not considered a defect. Twists are measured by placing the face of the door against a true plane surface.
  • Any requested variations from our normal construction specifications are not warrantied (e.g. reducing thickness of panel).
  • Doors and drawer fronts must be inspected upon receipt by our customer.
  • All Warranty claims must be inspected by an authorized Xpress Cabinet Doors representative prior to applying finishes or taking corrective steps.
  • Using finishes that are old or that have not been mixed correctly (too much water content in both water or lacquer based finishes) may cause uneven finish when applied to areas with putty and cannot be warrantied.

Solvent-based Finishing:

Xpress Cabinet Doors Solvent-based Finishing products are warrantied against defects for one year, when given reasonable treatment. Solvent-based Finishing was designed for solid wood application. Color and appearance may vary, particularly when applied to veneer, sheet goods, accessories, and any customer supplied products. This is considered a regular occurrence with wood products and is not considered a defect.

Xpress Cabinet Doors does not warranty the application of the Solvent-based Finishing System when applied by the customer and assumes no responsibility of color match or discoloration of the Solvent-based Finishing System.

Photographs are for illustration purposes only and may vary from actual product due to the printing process, computer monitor differences, and the variations in wood as a natural product. Xpress Cabinet Doors recommends customers order a sample of their selected options for approval before placing a full order. This warranty covers replacement or repair of doors or drawer fronts in the state they were ordered and in good condition as originally delivered FOB our factory. Xpress Cabinet Doors will not be held responsible for delays caused by factors beyond our control (e.g. obstruction to or blockage of usual routes of transportation, unavoidable accidents, riots, natural disasters, vehicle shortages, prevention of labor, power shortages, or lack of materials). Our liability under this warranty is limited to the net invoice price of the products as sold by us. There are no other warranties of any kind, expressed or implied.
