Overview

The Journey is a recessed-panel cabinet door in the Shaker family, built on a narrow 2-inch frame with mitered picture-frame corners for a slim, streamlined look.

Design details

Where most frame-and-panel doors use butt-jointed corners, the Journey's rails and stiles meet in a 45-degree miter, giving it clean, unbroken lines around the recessed panel. The narrow frame keeps the door light and modern, though the slimmer stiles are worth noting when planning hardware and hinge placement, especially for glass door options. The frame is symmetrical, with equal rails and no defined top or bottom. For a solid-panel version of the same slim frame, the look is also offered as the Newbury.

Wood species & finishes

A flat recessed panel on a narrow frame keeps the focus on the wood grain itself. Choose from a wide range of species and cuts, including Alder, Cherry, Maple, Pecan-Hickory, Walnut, and White Oak, with rift- and quarter-sawn White Oak options where grain consistency matters, or the MDF panel with maple paint-grade frame for a painted finish. Every Journey is made to order in your exact dimensions to fit your existing cabinets.

Unfinished products have a lead time of 7-10 business days - Clear coat and primed products, 12-17 business days - Painted items, 16-20 business days.
