Overview
The ready-to-assemble 2-Door Base Cabinet is the workhorse of a kitchen run: two doors, a full depth interior, and a frameless case that sits flush against its neighbours. What separates it from a stock cabinet is that no dimension is fixed. You choose the width, the height and the depth, and the case is cut to that size.
Sizing and fit
Width runs from 22 to 48 inches, height from 18 to 48 inches, and depth from 6 to 30 inches, every one of them in quarter inch steps. That granularity counts for most on depth, where a waste stack, a duct or a furred out wall usually dictates the number rather than preference.
The listed price covers the standard size, 22 inches wide by 34 3/4 inches high by 24 inches deep. You pay more only when you go past one of those, so an ordinary cabinet in an ordinary kitchen costs the list price.
Construction and materials
The case is 3/4 inch PureBond plywood faced in maple or birch veneer with a clear UV finish, or melamine where the interior will not be seen. Shelves are adjustable as standard, fixed if you want the extra rigidity, or left out altogether. Edges are banded in your choice of PVC, wood tape or special material, 63 finishes in total.
Finished end panels cover the construction screws on any run that ends in open space, as a flat veneer panel or a faux cap. Toe kicks come recessed, flush, or omitted, with a matching toe kick in 11 wood species. Doors come from the same catalogue of 121 styles as our replacement doors, so a new box matches an existing kitchen. Hinges are Blum.
