Overview
The ready-to-assemble 1-Door Wall Cabinet covers everything from a narrow filler beside a chimney breast to a full width upper. It is the most flexible box in the range, mostly because of how far down the width scale it goes, and because it can be finished as a solid door or as a glazed display cabinet.
Sizing and fit
Width runs from 6 to 24 inches. Height runs from 11 to 60 inches and depth from 6 to 30 inches, both in quarter inch steps. A 6 inch upper is not a size most suppliers will make, and it is exactly what an awkward gap at the end of a run needs, where the alternative is a blank filler panel that wastes the space entirely.
The listed price covers a cabinet up to 9 inches wide, 30 3/4 inches high and 12 3/4 inches deep. Depth repays some thought on uppers, because a shallower cabinet over a worktop buys back head room and elbow room, and quarter inch steps let you tune it rather than accept a stock size. Hinges are bored left or right to your order, or left unbored if you would rather set them out on site.
Construction and materials
The case is 3/4 inch PureBond plywood faced in maple or birch veneer with a clear UV finish, or melamine where cost matters more than the interior finish. Shelves are adjustable as standard, fixed for extra rigidity, or left out. Edges are banded in PVC, wood tape or special material, 63 finishes in total.
The underside of a wall cabinet is permanently in view, so a finished panel is available for the bottom as well as the left and right sides. If the cabinet is for display rather than storage, specify a glass ready frame at no extra charge, or a French 4 lite or 6 lite frame. Glass is not supplied, so it can be cut locally to the finish you want. Hinges are Blum.
