RTA Appliance Base Cabinet with Drawer
Overview
The ready-to-assemble Appliance Base Cabinet houses a built in appliance at worktop level with a drawer beneath it. A 3/4 inch top rail carries the worktop across the opening, so the appliance sits in the run rather than under it.
Sizing and fit
Height is fixed at 34 1/2 inches, which is standard base height under a worktop. Width runs from 9 1/4 to 42 inches and depth from 12 to 30 inches, both in quarter inch steps, and the appliance opening height is set separately from 9 to 20 3/4 inches.
The opening width and depth follow from the cabinet: the opening is the cabinet width less a fraction, and the cabinet depth less 3/4 of an inch. Size the cabinet from the appliance specification rather than the other way round. The listed price covers a cabinet 9 1/4 inches wide and 24 inches deep.
Construction and materials
The case is 3/4 inch PureBond plywood faced in maple or birch veneer with a clear UV finish, or melamine where cost matters more than the interior finish. Edges are banded in PVC, wood tape or special material, 63 finishes in total.
Drawer boxes come in white melamine, or dovetailed in poplar, red oak, maple, walnut or white oak. Finished end panels are available on either side as a flat veneer panel or a faux cap. Toe kicks come recessed, flush, or omitted, with a matching toe kick in 11 wood species. Fronts come from the same catalogue of 121 styles as our replacement doors. Slides are Blum.
