Overview
The ready-to-assemble 1-Door Blind Corner Base Cabinet is how a run meets a corner when the adjoining run has to pass in front of it. Part of the cabinet sits behind the neighbouring cabinets and is reached past them, which is the part called blind. An integrated filler keeps the two runs clear of each other.
Sizing and fit
Width runs from 36 to 52 inches, height from 16 to 48 inches, and depth from 12 to 30 inches, all in quarter inch steps. The blind width, which is how much of the cabinet sits behind the adjoining run, is set separately from 12 to 30 inches. Choose which side is blind when you order.
Getting the blind width right is the whole job on this cabinet: too little and the adjoining run fouls the door, too much and you lose reachable storage. The listed price covers a cabinet 36 inches wide, 34 1/2 inches high and 24 3/4 inches deep.
Construction and materials
The case is 3/4 inch PureBond plywood faced in maple or birch veneer with a clear UV finish, or melamine where the interior will not be seen. Shelves are adjustable as standard, fixed for extra rigidity, or left out. Edges are banded in PVC, wood tape or special material, 63 finishes in total.
Finished end panels are available on either side as a flat veneer panel or a faux cap. Toe kicks come recessed, flush, or omitted, with a matching toe kick in 11 wood species. Doors come from the same catalogue of 121 styles as our replacement doors, so a new box matches an existing kitchen. Hinges are Blum.
